Hunting profits (basics)

Post by [Ξ✪Ξ]·ㄅςЯ∑w↑· on Thu Dec 20, 2012 5:12 am

Hi, I think I got a fairly decent review in my kingdom for this, did it as just a newbie guide to water hunting but if it seems useful I may try and expand it to land creatures and possibly what to target in group dungeons (along with me just having an intrest in the most profitable creatures:))

Using +26 ice longbow
             +26 honed sword
             +26 shade leather armour
Ranger Spec Class

Attacking Epics only

(Note to lower levels, you may spawn timid through to Viscious, therefore earn less, but I imagine it be the same principle throughout eff rice spen levels)

Will start off with averages of three attacks. If popular I may up the total number attacks to get before accurate

Please consider that I have hunters eye, along with the honed buff on the sword among other variables of which I'm not taking into account at this time.  If this proves somewhat useful however, I may be inclined to redo with non-metal gear and no buffs (ie; hunters eye etc)

Obviously starting small with aquatic monsters (So water hunting - what to target). I imagine this one will be self explanatory and nothing to shocking will be revealed.

List not in any order

So as I said. Nothing to drastic just yet. But still helpful to the newer players:)

(also I apologize for my many spelling errors and bad grammar)

Please if you have any suggestions on how to make this better or more accurate/useful please feel free to share here or pm ingame:)

And happy hunting and have a fantastic Christmas! Only five days to go!

Perhaps add gold-per-hit averages. This would give a general sense of the return on time investment for each monster.

I love the concept and applaud the time and effort put into this. However I must point out one week spot in the concept. Even if you removed all buffs (class bonus, hunter's eye, and metals) your numbers could still be different from mine. For example, if you use a sword to do your testing and I use a dagger we will be doing different damage to different creatures. You will kill Nautiloids, Stone Hunters, and Gyronts faster than I will according to the damage matrix. However I will kill Aquarians, Corrupted, and Crawlers faster. Therefore the number of hits to kill could very easily be different from player to player strictly on weapon choice not just buff and bonuses. As a guide for Rangers (or just sword/bow users) though this is awesome. Thanks for the time you have spent putting all of this together.

Ty, I did think of the sword/bow variables, so I may make a new list over the holidays with all weapon types if I get the spare time :D

And the gold per hit average is good to. I'll try and incorporate that somehow

I find it interesting that the monsters that took fewer hits gave more gold for the most part i would have thought that it would have been the other way around. Question did by any chance any other monsters attack the one you were attacking?

I found it strange to. But as I said it was only an average from three attacks, and I made sure to attack only the epics at full health one at a time.
