City enemy

Post by ѕwЗd0c♚нoт♚ on Tue May 08, 2012 1:58 pm

would be awsum if mayors could declare someone an enemy of a city even if they don't burn city buildings.
but to avoid misuse the best would be if mayor could post a vote and if 50% or more of city's active members vote yes in 5 days then the city member is declared a city enemy.

enemy status only lasts 22-24 hours -- so waiting 5 days would not really do much.

but this gives the mayor too much power . . . if you don't get why just read the other 10 threads about this. The one thread I liked was if city towers protected city members

Swedoc's idea is good but perhaps giving the mayor the ability to kick or ban players from a city for a certain period of time (like 3-5 days) would be better than declaring them as an enemy. It would certainly make it harder for players to abuse game mechanics, whilst still not giving the mayor too much power. I do not believe that this would be giving the mayor too much power because they did earn that spot after all.

I would rather be an enemy for 22 hours than banned for a few days.

Having city towers protect it's own members doesn't give the mayor any power but assists those that live there . . . even though this could be abused also it's not as powerful as having a single person able to declare or "ban" people at will. It's really not hard for someone to join a city and work at becoming mayor. Mayors get free travel as is . . . giving them "war" power isn't in the nature of cities.

What cities do need is a warehouse similar to kingdoms where other members can donate mats so it doesn't fall on the mayor to provide these when expanding and building.

I think make city enemy status last a week and give the mayor power to forgive.

Then, for 5k gold at the city center, the mayor can bribe the guard towers to attack anyone on his enemy list for an hour.

the reason for this suggestion is that we have a certain player that only goal is to join different city's and use it to burn all city members public flags.
since the player never attacks the city but only flags around it he's not an enemy but should be due to the fact he's on all city members enemy list and is activly burning his fellow city members flags

If the mayor represented the citizens, the perpetrator would be in the mayors enemy list, thus under attack by the city guard during the bribed time period.
