Flags

Because the world is more fun when it is yours.

What Are Flags?
Flags are usually pieces of fabric attached to a stick of some kind. Their primary use is to mark the location of something. In the case of Parallel Kingdom, they are used to mark your territory. Flags are also used for moving around, see "Using Flags for Travel" below.

Building Flags
Flags can be built by tapping the "Menu" button followed by "Create" >> "Build" >> "Flag." Of course this requires that you have enough Leather and Wood. If you do not, then it is back to hunting for you. I recommend that you have enough material for at least three flags before you start so that you can truly experience the benefits of flag building.

Placing Flags
When you build a Flag, it is automatically placed where you are standing. THIS IS IMPORTANT. You should place flags as far apart as possible where you can still see the other flag on your map. This makes travel more efficient as you will see later.

Using Flags for Travel
After you build your first few Flags you will probably sit there for a moment contemplating life and what on earth you are supposed to be doing with these flags you have just placed. The answer: Travel. Yes, that's right you can use your flags to travel. To accomplish this, tap your flag and choose "Visit Location." Your map will then recenter on the flag you selected. Soon you will be roaming your territory at will.

Different Types of Flags
At any time, you can tap one of your flags and change its type from Normal to Public or Private. You can change a flag's type any time the flag is visible, as much as you want, at no cost.

Normal flags: This is the default setting. Normal flags can only be used by you and players that you have granted Right of Passage.

Public flags: These are still owned by you, but they will turn white Image. Public flags can be used by any player except Enemies of the flag's owner. No Right of Passage is needed.

Private flags: Cannot be used by anyone else, even if they have Right of Passage on your land. Use this to keep others away from your house, tree farms, and precious mines.

Destroying Your Flags
If you manage to place a Flag you no longer want, tap the flag followed by the Destroy button. Warning: You'll only get half your resources back when destroying your own buildings.

Destroying the Flags of Others
If you are the type of person who likes to see others cry, you may take up the occupation of attacking other players' territory. Flags, like most objects in Parallel Kingdom, have HP. When that HP reaches 50%, you will have to start the flag on fire using some crude oil. If the flag is unhardened, it will burn down quickly (30 secs or so). If it is hardened, the burning process will take a little more than a day, so the owner will have some time to find it and repair it if they want to keep it.

Hints for Beginners:
  • Many players take their territory seriously. When starting out, it is recommended to only attack the flags of inactive players - players that haven't logged in for >2 weeks. Tap the flag and "View Owner Profile" to see how long it has been since the flag owner last logged in.
  • Most players will be kind and helpful to new players if you politely introduce yourself to them. If someone's flags are not allowing you to travel around, send that player a message and tell them you just started. Also, tap the flag and choose "Request Passage." Once the player grants you passage, you will be able to hunt on their flags.

Caves
You can take control of Caves. To accomplish this, tap the Cave and choose Take Control. This prevents others from mining stone at the cave, and allows you to visit it like it were a flag.

Houses
Houses are another mark you can leave on the landscape. They too are visitable like Flags and Caves.
